Dental Health Insurance Student Plans - Health Insurance Plan

WSU insurance future unknown The Guardian

The effects of President Obama’s health care bill on student health insurance remains unseen, but officials at Wright State University’s Student Health Services plan to inform WSU as changes develop.

A small number of WSU students have insurance.

“There are about 17,000 students on campus.  Each quarter we have about 2,500 of them on the insurance,” said Joyce Smith, an insurance benefits coordinator in WSU student health.

The majority of students on WSU health insurance are between the ages of 30 and 50.  Some also have their spouses and or children on the insurance as dependents, she said Opinions of the health insurance are mixed at this point.

“I am not satisfied with WSU insurance. It doesn’t cover my certain medication and instead of having certain other medications covered when I visit the pharmacy I first have to pay for it at the pharmacy then get a reimbursement later from the college,” said Emily Evans, a sophomore majoring in Motion Picture Production.
